Our Instructors & Staff Members

Our Instructors have spent many years devoted to training in the martial arts and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as teachers and also mentors.

Through extensive testing, certification and tournament level competition, our staff has attained mastery in this martial art and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to their students.

Here are a few of Progressive Tactics's instructors and other staff members, starting with Bill Barker:

Bill Barker  (6th dan)

Master Barker

Nicole Knott  (4th dan/ master) 
Mrs. Knott holds a bachelor of arts as a teacher specializing in special needs students during the day. She has been training since 2001.

Mrs. Knott holds the rank of 4th degree black belt (master title) in Tang Soo Do and 1st degree black belt (guro title) in Modern Arnis.

David Knott  (5th dan/ master) 
Mr. Knott has been training for nearly 20 years with us, and has been an instructor for over 10 of those years.
He has earned his 5th degree black belt in karate and is the chief instructor at our Gibraltar location. 

Theresa Terlecki (4th dan/ Dayang Apat) 
Guro Theresa has been training for nearly  20 years in our Filipino martial arts program. She trains at both Brownstown and Taylor locations.  She is the Little Tiger and Little Dragon instructor in Gibraltar and was the primary teacher at our Garden City location (inside Guardian Martial Arts on Ford Road).
Guro started with PTMA 2/2/2005

Mr. Ethan Talabo (2nd dan)

Mr. Talabo has been a student at PTMA for many years and is one of our most talented black belts.  He relates to the youth and adult students very well and is a great example for others to learn from.
